What we collect, in 10 lines
- Ahead works without an account - your plan lives on your phone.
- Create an account (optional) and we store your email and your plan so it can sync.
- Your plan means your income, spending, debts, goals and saving history.
- Chat with the coach and your messages are processed by an AI provider to write the reply.
- We never sell your data. Ever.
- We show no ads and use no advertising trackers.
- We don't connect to your bank.
- Face ID happens entirely on your device - we never see it.
- Delete your account in Settings and everything is erased, including backups within 35 days.

Who we are
Ahead is a personal-finance planning app operated by Bobby Pridie ("we", "us"), the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@aheadapp.org.
What we collect and why

We collect nothing else. No advertising identifiers, no analytics SDKs, no location, no contacts, no bank connections. Face ID unlock is performed by iOS on your device; biometric data never reaches us.
The AI coach
When you message the coach, your message, recent chat history and the relevant numbers from your plan are sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate the reply. The coach can only restate figures computed from your own plan - it's blocked from inventing numbers or recommending financial products. Under our API agreement, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. The coach offers general guidance about your own plan; it is not regulated financial advice.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, each under a data-processing agreement: Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI coach replies), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple (payments and app distribution) and Cloudflare (bot protection). Where a provider processes data outside the UK, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US Data Bridge.
How long we keep it
Your account and plan data are kept until you delete your account. Coach chat messages are kept for a rolling 12 months. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete my account and data), everything is erased immediately from our live systems and purged from encrypted backups within 35 days. Deleting the app without deleting your account leaves any synced data in place until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights
You can exercise most rights directly in the app: export your data (Settings → Export my data), correct it (all profile data is editable) and erase it (Settings → Delete my account and data). You also have rights of access, restriction and objection - email us and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Ahead is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The latest version always lives at this address.
